As we all know what happened in yesterday’s match. Something
shocking happened that no Indian fan had ever imagined. Yes, Sri Lanka beats India
in a very convincing fashion.
If we talk about this match, then Rohit Sharma again could

to be in the final. In the qualifying stage team India did well. It played both Hongkong
and Pakistan and defeated both teams. And qualified for super four. But if
you look closely those two wins were very close. Team India beat the team
Pakistan with very narrow margin and team Hongkong also took toll at Indian bowlers.
And exposed Indian bowling. Which also the main reason for team India’s loss in
super four matches. Means Indian bowling is not able to take the initial
wickets. And because of that it comes under immense pressure. And losing
matches under pressure. Another reason is opening batsman KL Rahul is out of
form and middle order is also quite a failure in the Asia Cup.
Now let’s take a look at points table and see where
team India stands. By winning 2 of 2 matches with 4 points team Sri Lanka is at
no.1 position. And seems like its going to be in the finals. At second position
it’s team Pakistan who have won 1 out of 1 match and with 2 points it is at
second position. At third it is team India with 0 points who lost it’s 1 match
against Pakistan in super 4 stage. At fourth spot is team Afghanistan who lost
1 out of 1 match and because of poor run rate it finishes at no.4 spot.
Now question still remains for team India weather it
can qualifies for the final. Now try to understand it very carefully. Upcoming match
is Afghanistan vs Pakistan. If team Afghanistan wins, it will have 2 points. After
that there is Afghanistan vs India match. If India wins that match, then team India
will also have 2 points. There is another match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
If Sri Lankan team beats Pakistan, then Pakistan will remain with 2 points. Which
means three teams (India, Pakistan and Afghanistan) will remain with 2 points each.
And then net run rate will be the deciding factor among these three teams to qualify
as a second finalist. Simply put Pakistan should lose it’s upcoming both
matches then team India has chance to qualify for the final. Considering it
beats Afghanistan with big margin. But looking at the current form of Pakistan
it looks like it is not going lose to either Afghanistan or Sri Lanka. If it
wins any one of the remaining matches then it will be the second finalist. And team
India will have no hope for the final of Asia cup 2022. The bottom line is team
India is 99% out of Asia Cup 2022, unless some miracle happens.
