the Dragon episode six ending explained. As we embarked on the first episode of
the final half of the first season of the show, we started with the very thing
that caused a lot of the conflict, strengthened the divide and is looking like
it's one of the final things in a long run of events that occurred in the past
decade, which is made there be a point of no return. And that was the birth of Rhaenyra
as the child with so much happening in this episode, with the new actors taking
up the roles. the introduction of the prisoners with no tongues and the
children being ever so present and the decisions that were being made. I
thought I'd recap break down and explain all that there was to take away from
this episode of the show, so let's get into it.
Here is
house of the Dragon episode six ending explained just to let you know this article
will contain spoilers with this episode containing lots of separate arcs
occurring I'm going to break this article down by the characters and the way
that it finished for each of them. Rhaenyra. We've witnessed Rhaenyra, give
birth to her third child who we saw was named Joffrey. It's clear to see that
ring RHAENYRA has been having intimate relations with Sir Harwin strong as all
three of her children resembled him and not who she's married to laenor or despite
this we saw leaned on named the child Joffrey most likely is an honor to sit
Joffrey long mirth Laena’s lover who was killed by Sir Kristen Cole in Episode
Five. Cole was lingering in the background when they were discussing the name
which I thought was a nice touch, Alicent requested to see Joffrey the moment
that he was born as she wanted to see if he resembled laenor, and we saw that
she checked his hair is one of the main ways to see if he was a valerian descent,
which he was not Rhaenyra’s paranoia had grown throughout this episode and with
the eruption of Harwin Strong on Sir Kristen Cole, we saw that she felt the rumor's that were being spread about herself and the relations that she'd had and her
children. There had always been bad words spoken of Rhaenyra in the sense that
most people felt that she shouldn't be heir to the Iron Throne. And with her
now leaving King's Landing at the end of the episode and going to dragon stone
which was supposed to inherit when she came of age, the grasp that she holds on
her father and the so-called Honey that will be poured into her father's ear by
Alicent will become more and more prominent as she seeks to get AEGON to be king. Rhaenyra
does feel the most human out of most of the characters in the show and is
prepared to do what she can to keep relationships smooth, such as the offering
of the marriage between her son Jesse Reyes and Alicent's daughter Helaena, but
Alicent finds it too difficult to look past the lying betrayal and tarnishing
of the family's reputation with what she's been doing with Sir Harwin. Rhaenyra
restated in the end how they'll need as many people as they can get, hence the
reason as to why Laena was able to bring his lover so she's likely predicting
war on the horizon when the time comes, showing that she's not oblivious to it
at all. We'll see both mother's Rhaenyra and Alicent mirror behavior, other sides.
Alicent will be preparing Aegon to be king and continue to tarnish the name of Rhaenyra
and Rhaenyra will be raising her children preparing them to follow alongside
her and prepping them for the Iron Throne.
Alicent
and Larys. Alicent was the individual who at her core, just like her father was
doing right by her children. She doesn't want Rhaenyra to sit on the Iron
Throne because of how she's acting as she's seated herself using her privilege
and position to do as she pleases but also because she wants to protect her son
Aegon and prevent the uproar from the people. She mentioned that Rhaenyra would
be able to do as she pleased to protect her line to the throne if she ascended
it. And that could mean taking up her son Aegon, so I can sympathize with her
slightly ever since she didn't believe her father, the grudge for Rhaenyra has
strengthened and the untrustworthiness has risen up. She disagreed with the
king a lot throughout this episode, but that was because of her frustration
with him choosing to look away from Rhaenyra’s behavior as he turned a blind
eye and pretended that nothing was going on. In the final third of the episode,
we saw that she'd spoken with Larry strong son of Lionel, Hand of the King and
also brother to Sir Harwin who had been banned from the City Watch due to an
outburst on Sir Kristen Cole and we saw Larys devise a plan to get both his
father and his brother killed. They wanted to position it as a way that showed
that Lionel's interests were conflicted so that he could no longer be hanged,
but instead, they were recruited prisoners who was sentenced to death and
instead of killing them cut up their tongue so they wouldn't be able to speak.
no betray layers for ordering them to do what they did. And this was to set
fire to Heron Hill, which meant that both Lionel and Harwin were killed. Alicent,
despite not expecting it to go as far as what it did and being shocked at what
happened. It meant that she could now call upon her father sir Otto Hightower
who'd been absent and likely get him to fill the position of Hand of the King,
meaning the schemer will be able to make a return and Alicent will have an ally
back in her corner again.
King Viserys.
The king was looking considerably weaker
and his illness had most certainly gotten worse. The main involvement of the
king in this episode was him turning a blind eye to all of Rhaenyra’s activities
and birthing of children that were not a valerian descent. so much so that he
even stated that Joffrey had the same noses as Laenor on which just wasn't the
case. He's in complete denial. Rhaenyra is all that is left of his dear wife,
Amer who he truly loved, and by opening up and admitting that he knows of all
of what Rhaenyra has been up to would mean the accepting of the defeat and tarnishing
the last remaining thing that he has of his life. If he were to open up about
how he knows about Rhaenyra’s on faithfulness to Laenor, it would only further
support what the public want and we can read Rhaenyra’s chances of ascending
the Iron Throne.
Daemon
and Laena. Daemon had an interesting feature in this episode, the rivalry that
he seemed to have held with his brother King Viserys a decade ago wasn't a
prominent part of his time, but instead it was more mourning the love that he
held for Rhaenyra and the fact that he wanted to be with her over his current
wife Laena, it seems as though he isn't the best father to his twins as we
heard them state how he doesn't really talk to them. However, with Laena
getting her dragon Vhagar, which looked pretty epic, last day to burn her
instead of going through the pain and suffering that we saw Aemer through in
episode one, mirroring what we saw right at the start, he's the sole carer for
them now and will likely become more of a father to them. He wanted to stay in
pentose living a comfortable life as guests but laenor didn't want to end with
it looking as though he's going to go back to Dragonstone. In Episode Seven, he
may be fulfilling Linus wishes. Daemon genuinely looked hard and upset and it's
the first time we've really seen this season with Daemon now on his own and
laid off with other men that could cause the alliance and relationship of Rhaenyra
and Daemon that there's been a lot of tension around and leading up to.

the
children and the lengths that a parent will go to was the main focus of the
episode. Viserys protecting Rhaenyra, Lionel looking out for Harwin, Harwin
looking at just Aries and Alicent looking out for Aegon. The closing speech at
the end cemented the fact that everything that parents do they do it for their
children, and we got to spend time with many of them in this week's episode.
Aemond
appears to be the one that they will ridicule because he doesn't have a dragon.
He doesn't have a dragon because he was never bonded with an egg when he was
younger. And there were also none available to claim. Like we saw Laena stage
she was 15 when she got her dragon so it's something that will come with time.
At the
moment. Aegon doesn't appear fast about being the ruler of Westeros. But his
mother putting suspicions in his mind is like them. That's going to make him
care more. He seems to be a formidable warrior for his age. And that's
something I think we will see develop as time goes on Jacaerys at the end. So,
it was aware of the fact that Harwin was his father and that Laenor wasn't. So,
its treat to see if this changes anything between their relationship.
I thought
this week's episode was a really good one. It was a slow burner with a lot that
went on. And with it being titled, “The Princess and the queen”, It certainly
did hold focus on that, especially with the shot that we got where they were
both standing opposite each of the step stones appear to be an issue and I'm
intrigued to see if anything will happen there. Or if they will, in fact end up
siding with either the greens or the blacks as the battle that's set to
commence is far larger than that, but instead it's a battle of Westeros I'm
looking forward to seeing the repercussions of all of the actions in next
week's episode.
